Evil of the Pure
Through time Christianity have been one of the largest religions. It has evolved from a mere tool for churches to gain wealth, to a way of raising children, to a misunderstood and overexaggerated term. Now, in our modern times, it rises as a deception of good and pure, despite it’s ill-considered facts. It’s had massive impacts on modern culture and the systems of our time, the laws and norms, and even though it nearly died a lifetime ago, it continues to remain as the spirit of good, contrairy to evil. But evil comes in many shapes. The biblical way; disobeying the biddings of God. The modern way; breaking laws and rules, the psycological way of having cruel intentions.
But how can a such term be defined? Some dictionaries may define it as “profoundly immoral and malevolent”, but that’s merely a term to define the outcome of ones thoughts through action. Is a person who only thinks evil, and doesn’t act, evil, not evil? Is evil only definable by the assumption that it’s against others? Is suicide not evil?
There are many words for it. I, however, believe that evil is the manifestation of an unrelenting urge. A need unfulfilled, causing tremendous mental and physical damage. Wasting your life on a cause that is not doable, throwing your life away by a simple mistake. These deeds of the dumb and weak is evil, and evil are they. For he who does not appreciate, cannot be defined as good. However, according to ancient religious believes, appreciation and fortune are signs of greed and cruelty, and thus concluding that one should devote their life to a greater cause to achieve true happiness and meaning. I am against this, as I am an individualist and believe that each individual should live life as they please, as much as they can, regardless of some greater good. Purity is a rotten expression for good, and should not be considered valid for believers, merely an adjective to describe one’s state of health or the like.
The Values of Life
Through hundreds of years, the meaning of life has been subject to discussion. Hundreds of thousands of philosophers, poets, politicians, doctors and the like have given their opinion on what is the meaning of each individuals course of life. But is it possible to objectively decide on a single thing, that truly defines life in all of its aspect? I have my doubts. The meaning of life should be what you make of it, as we biologically speaking only live once. However, there are certain common denominators that could help us brush up our perspective on what the values in life really are. For without values, there can be no meaning (i.e. you can’t pay with just money, there must be a certain amount for it to mean anything. Nothing can just cost “money”).
First of all, we would like to map our current values in life. We’d likely list a number of things that we love about life; our friends, our material goods, our knowledge and terms of living, if they are good. Without these very basic things we would not consider life to be good, and thus not valuable, and it would loose meaning. Based on that we can conclude that without a lust for life, or at least a joy for the good parts, life has no meaning to us, and therefore one could say that enjoying your life is the meaning of it, or part of it. But that’s not very definitive, for how does one enjoy their life the most? Some enjoy to attend parties, some enjoy to save whales and make the world a better place. Some need control, and some need to be submissive. An objective evaluation of the meaning of enjoying life can therefore not be made, and joy cannot be the meaning of life in this particular instance.
Perhaps the human being is in too early a state of evolution (biologically and technologically) to even comprehend life itself. We have discovered the primary biological procedures, we’ve gained knowledge on our ancestors and we can evaluate billion of itemized conclusions without ever being capable of explaining the subjective, spiritual means of every human being. For how can a subjective opinion or experience be made science? How can religion trumph biology? How can faith heal wounds and honor conquer countries? Despite our constant developement in terms of knowledge, we still pocess no such evidence as to these spiritual and psycological questions. We can make assumptions and theroretically calculate, and perhaps that is definitive enough for us, but perhaps it is not.
Back to the meaning of life. If the meaning is to enjoy, does those who do not enjoy not mean anything? Are their lives wasted on poorness and insufficient living conditions? And does that mean that they’re not worth having on our earth, are they of no meaning to us? No. We care about these lesser fortuned people because we feel a need to share. Is that merely a cowardly norm, or an actual state of guilt and connection? Life is what we make of it, someone just have better materials to make it from.
Son of Man
The society we live in today doesn’t let us improve ourself as it used to. We’re restricted by norms, rules & laws. We don’t have the same values as we used to, which on it’s own is fine, but I think we’ve lost some important things – things necessary for modernizing the world though.
When you think about it, we live in an extremely privileged world. If you read these, you have access to the Internet. One of the most practical & convenient inventions of all time. This service-society that we live in, strife to make our lives easier, doing everything step-by-step, different steps by different people. Back in the days, each would do their part – entirely!
When someone wants to exercise (most commonly for, you guessed it, looks) they’d go to a gym (if they don’t have their own machinery!). You know what I call that? Hypocrisy. Spitting evolution in the face, that’s what it is. (Okay, hypocrisy was obviously a poor choice of word, see former entry…) We used to be in a time where you’d loose weight, get in shape, get muscles and get sweat on you by working. It was not something you’d necessarily like, it was not something you did for the exercise. It was a necessity, your career. Oh, no I’m not talking about the 1500’s, nor the Roman time. I’m talking Tarzan, baby! A classic example.
It’s a boy who lives in the wild, doing everything by himself, learning everything by himself (everything human, note you). He’s the perfect individual: strong psychically , strong mentally, protective for what he care about & completely independent. I’m not saying we should all go back to those times, that’s not what I’m saying. I’m merely pointing out that just a bit of Anarchy, a few years ruled by the law of the jungle, wouldn’t hurt the individuals of our society.
People should learn to take responsibility for their actions so that they could learn to not make mistakes, grow as humans. Only when you’re completely devastated from that kind of work, you know what you’re worth as a human. Commonly mistaken with meeting your so-called soulmate or experiencing a near-death experience, hard work & responsibility is the only way to measure the worth of a human being. Now I’m not saying everything should be Jesus fucking Christ, I mean we all make mistakes, and I’m not even saying we’d have to take the consequences for all of them! I myself prefer to load it on someone else, as long as you don’t break down entirely and start, I don’t know, crying. Honor people, honor yourselves!
Learn from your experiences – and mistakes. Work till you reach your goal, aim towards the heavens. Perhaps you’ll fall down into your own miserable demise, but better to have loved and lost than never have loved at all, the same thing goes for trying. Unless you’re utterly useless, usually because you don’t follow the basic principles of the jungle law, you’ll eventually reach for what you want. Don’t compromise, only wait! I like to see at it this way: If I’m stuck on some step of my plan (i.e. I want to do 1000 stair steps but I’m stuck on 92) I like to think of it as a break, just staying here for a while. It could take years to go further, but it’s better than giving up. Maybe you won’t reach your 1000 steps, but at least you can say you gave all you had, and after all the journey is as important as the destination.
Hot Tips from the Author: Life’s a bitch, cry me a river.
Being sad helps no one. Seeing things in a negative light helps no one. Whenever life kicks you, you stand up and give it your best shot, even if you’ll end up in the hospital with 32 stitches (not literally of course, that’d just be dumb.)
I accept the fact that sometimes you have to mourn to move on, but don’t waste your time on petty differences. If your mom died, your cousin or your best friend, yes, you should mourn. But don’t keep it like that, after a while you’ll realize that it’d be stupid to focus upon their death, when you could just as easily focus on their lives. And please, for the love of the Coke Company do not, I repeat do NOT cry about broken hearts & lost jobs. You’re not missing the past, you’re dreading the future, and there’s only one way to prepare yourself for that …
Misinformation is the Truest of Sins
Misinformation is the truest of Sins
I’ve scattered the subject much already, but I feel there’s need for severe explaining in our society, especially the pop culture and how some young people see at some things. I’ve been over satanism, which at least where I live is very mislead, and now I’ll try to talk a little about the 3 things I live by: Atheism, Anarchy & Nihilism.
Already here, some people may start thinking things like: punk, emo, psychopath. I don’t know, perhaps the people whom I talk with it about are just like that, I’ve not been quite enough around the world to generalize as such, but you get my point. Let’s start from the beginning of MY tale:
Atheism
Atheism is the opposite of religion, so to speak. It’s completely revolving around the idea that there is no God, and that people should not waste their time* on prayers and church. It’s meant for people who are relatively satisfied & happy with their lives, those who do not have the need for a greater cause. I’m an atheist because I cannot believe in anything, it’s simply not something that I can do. It wouldn’t feel right for me to pray, and I find flaws in every religious script I hear of. I’m not in any way trying to be positive towards it, and the negativity allows me to take a safe distance from such things and Gods and religions. However, this does not mean that I cannot have some of the same ideas as some religions – non-divine whatsoever. For example I try to live life as I want it; peaceful but with whatever pleasures I desire, as long as I can get it of course. 2 things stripped right off of respectively buddhism & satanism. These are the things about religion I support, and not just the ones I follow myself. Discipline from christianity is not something that should be restricted to religion, it’s something you can use in other connections and I really believe that the barrier between religion and just general beliefs could be washed out if people took these 2 things and separated them entirely.
Anarchy
A slightly more controversial & unusual point of view (apart from the rather common atheism) is anarchy. It has nothing to do with religion whatsoever, it’s more political. It’s the idea of a system of individuality, that crushes the typical society values that we know from democracy. In reality it simply means “no system”, i.e. no government, no election, no nothing. No public sector, technically. I’m an anarchist for one simple reasons: it’s challenges the individual to grow as a human. I’m not entirely confident that a society would run smoothly under the control of complete anarchy, but I do believe it’d give some good aspects to our well-controlled and safe society that democracy is. Might have something to do with me not really caring for the less fortuned. I think you should, but I just don’t and it’s sad, but if people cannot contribute I cannot approve of them. Terrible, I know.
Nihilism
I put this at the end of my little Top 3 because I think (← THINK) it’s the least common of the 3. Nihilism is a worldview, regarding everything, really. It’s an attitude towards life itself, not just society or religion. The basics of nihilism is that nothing matters, and the baseline I follow is that life is without meaning, moral is meaningless in greater sense that common manners, and the only true way of making something of life is to live it to it’s fullest. Some would say nihilism is a rather negative way of seeing things, but I cling it to some of my other before-mentioned philosophies; live life as you wish, without being controlled by a God or religion. Take full responsibility for your own actions. Do as you wish, live life with pleasures instead of vanity and faith.
Combined, these 3 life-philosophies complete my beliefs. I live life exactly the way I want it, and do what I want. Now don’t judge me from this, it may sound like I’m some sort of trouble-making punk who should be sent straight to military school, but I’m really a nice and polite guy, and it saddens me to see people who have so many prejudices towards my choices. You can’t generalize these words as such. I’m an ordinary boy, who’s been raised well and dresses casually. I’m not punk, emo, pop, street or anything else. Jeans & a tee, nihilism, anarchy and atheism. It’s who I am, and I think people around the world have the right to know what that is!
Creationism is not Science
I’d like to start by pointing out that all of the below is the conclusion of my personal believes, experiences and is in no way to be considered scientific facts, nor should I be held responsible for possible misinformation, as all of this is told from my own point of view, my subjective data.
There’s always been a fine line between religion and science. But the truth be told, it’s two entirely different things.
Many people believe that creationism – that God created the entire universe in 6 days, is as much of a theory as evolution. The way I look at it is, that evolution is a logical theory that makes sense and explains everything it’s supposed to, while creationism is a work of fiction made eternal in the works of a single book. The exact same thing as if I were to follow the world of a any other fictional book, such as Lord of the Rings. It’s not proven, it never has been. Certainly neither has evolution, but it at least has actual facts pointing to its existence; fossils.
Other than the obvious, creationism has so many flaws. Firstly, i’d like to point out some of the things creationists could use to their advantage. I.e. a God could’ve MADE evolution, sort of like a computer macro. But no one ever suggests that, because people need the struggle.
Clearly, both creationism and evolution has flaws. Creationism: 6 days to create the largest, most complex and massive “artwork” of all time, containing billions of miniature parts, effects and organisms? And more importantly, only ONE day to rest after all that? And what about this whole schedule. No matter what we say, humankind created the calendar system. We used the skies and common sense to frame the time there is, and as such how did anyone count Gods mighty work to 7 days? And not to mention how the Bible makes it sound like he had some creepy toy store going on when he created humans “Okay big guy, we’re outta tails but we’ve got this thumb-thing.” Truly there are many mysterious events and passing in “The Holy Bible”. Meanwhile, evolution is much more bulletproof.
Certainly it has it’s flaws, I mean the Big Bang theory is kind of strange isn’t it? Now I’m not saying I don’t support evolution 100%, I’m just saying that it has no way to explain how it all started, and how it ends. Not saying that there has to be an explanation, just trying to give the creationists something to feast on here, cause frankly the Bible is basically Gaza compared to the bulletproof-ness of evolution!
But let’s not be so narrow-minded; perhaps another specie entirely created the earth and all there’s on it. Perhaps aliens just felt like doing something extraordinaire for science class, who knows.
As you’ve probably already figured out, I’m no fan of religion. I like to see myself as an independent liberalized human being. Anarchist, atheist, nihilist and what not. So to finish this, chew on this: Christians believe that God created the world, and they’re fighting to make it part of science in schools and other institutions, but there are more religions. Buddhism, islamism, hinduism and many more! Even if evolution wasn’t the truth, what would make christianity superior to the other religions out there? No, creationism simply is not science. It cannot be proven, it’s based on thin air & parchment and is not even specific.
I believe that religion should not be considered science, it should be considered faith, which it is anyway. People should have the right to believe in a higher power, whatever makes them feel they’re part of something bigger. I support that entirely, but if they try to cross the border between faith and fantasy, I will shoot them down mercilessly one by one. Here, and no more. Believe what you want, if it comes from a book or a TV-show, a great trip or a near-death experience. Frankly I don’t care, all I care for is that I can do what I want to. I’ll take responsibilities for my actions, I won’t blame it on the master plan. But if that makes you feel better, so be it. Just don’t use it in court, cause it won’t stand.
Big brother, or mother… Or err, uncle?
big brother”, “big mother” and what-not superstitions. Sure, we’re under constant surveillance in the modern world, but we choose to be. We choose to use the technology that we apparently fear. I’m not saying surveillance is okay, I’m not defending the corporate masses, I’m only saying we have a choice.
A few years back I made a presentation at my school on the Big Brother/Mother society, and it surprised me how surprised people where when I “revealed” how we’re always “being watched”. Even though people use computers and cellphones all day long, most of them really don’t think of them as little technological bread crumbs, but that is what they are, and if we’re determined to use these devices every day, we should be aware of the side effects. But let’s face it, no one is watching. It’s like mid-day TV, sure it’s there for the taking but it’s really only the sick suckers who watch it (no offense)!
I’m just saying that we’re taking this discussion too far, yes there is the possibility of surveilling us, but what would anyone use your private calls to aunt Betty to? Stay away from sites like Facebook and MySpace if you don’t want any big corporation to see whatever it is you’re hiding, and face that this is a new time we live in. I for one would much rather be filmed when making a withdrawal at the bank/ATM than not having any cameras in the bank, that’d just scream robbery. I’d prefer if all cellphones were trackable could it catch one, just ONE murderer.
Don’t get me wrong though, I’m not a great fan of “The Man”, I’m a little bit of a free-time conspiracist myself, but I just don’t think we should make a bigger deal out of this than we can handle. The people who really does not want to be followed will somehow find an obscure, strange and mind-blowing way of making their wishes come true, meanwhile, if you’re not willing to go through that kind of trouble you probably don’t really care. So cling onto your purse and keep walking, because the technology you fight saves lives everyday, and I’m not quite ready to give that up for my useless “personal, inviolable freedom”, which only protects me from the silliest of things, improving the world for my demands (i.e., corporations using info from e.g. Facebook to make products that’d speak to you). It’s a sacrifice worthy the cause.
As always, this is pure results of my own thoughts and opinions, and should not be held for facts.
PS: If you’re reading this, you’re probably someone I could call a reader. So now I want your help, reader. I’ve been struggling with a good template for this WP-blog that would fit the intentions of this page. Suggestions, comments and whatnot in the… Well in the comments of course.
Why Satan is just Misunderstood
All my life, I’ve only heard bad things about Satan and Satanism, but when I was about 13 I went through a strange phase of emo, and it was in that phase I started looking into stuff that made my interest on religion grow, and through the years I’ve opened my eyes to the extraordinary prejudices people have against Satanism, while they also believe God is the good one.
I’m not saying God is bad, but I’ve had enough of the people who deny Satan to be any good whatsoever. I’m not a Satanist, I’m an atheist and my view should be considered completely and entirely subjective to my own point of view – which happens to be neutral to the two parts.
Let me start, if you can call this far down a start, by saying that I do not approve of either Christianity nor Satanism. My believe lies within a complete atheistic society, but this is not the place to talk about that. I believe in data, and information, and I’m disappointed every time I hear of something that’s been so misinformed to the public, especially when it comes to politics and religion, the two greatest forces of all time. So when I’m writing this, it’s because I want to enlighten you, my few dear readers, to grow into bigger human beings.
Satanism and Satan are often concluded to just be bad things per definition, but that’s not entirely true, well depending on your own religious views. According to the Bible, Satan is the natural enemy of God. He is the archangel who betrayed him, and took on the “forces of evil”. This is true, however the “forces of evil” according to the Bible is somewhat different then we see it in the modern world. Firstly, it’s only relative, as evil is said in a tone largely pointing it as a comparison to God, and God is of course the good one. The stuff that Christianity forbids in it’s simplest design is pre-marriage sex, lust, desire, all that we combine and define as, well relatively good stuff in the time that we live in! So technically, God is against partying down, drinking, sexual passion and pleasure. Let’s take a look at the Devil!
The Devil is the entirely opposite of God. He encourages wild lustful sex, pleasure, drinking and gambling. All these things that are considered sins according to the Bible, are in our modern world considered really great stuff, in a non-medical way of speaking of course. Broken down entirely, Satan is pleasure while God is discipline. This is why I personally believe that our world has come to a point where not only Christianity, but religion all around is way outdated, people just don’t know enough about it anymore. When it mattered, in the old days, people did what the Bible bid them to do. They were pure, or at least that’s what they thought. Hang on, I’m seeing a pattern here!
Religion is a curse, a mere scapegoat for the billions of sins that we commit. But we cannot keep living in this misconception of our entire cultural background. Either the public needs enlightenment, or religion should be considered a mental illness. Or something less extreme, but I’m just trying to make a point here. If people do not know what their own beliefs are, they shouldn’t be spitting out all their sins to a so-called forgiving God. It doesn’t fix the problems, it merely enhances them.
The Butterfly Effect
Offspring of the Chaos Theory
Through years I’ve shown quite an interest in the effects and mechanisms of the Chaos Theory, especially because of it’s amazing ability to predict behavior and analyze the human world we live in, but also because of its capability to help us reach greater scientific wisdom regarding the animal and plant kingdoms. Long story short; I like the idea of a theory that explains the motion of everything, simply. Another recent subject of interest to me is the offspring of said theory; the butterfly effect.
An amazing theory as it is, the Chaos Theory presents several terms of effect-explanations, one of those would be The Butterfly Effect. It’s typically known for it’s reputation among time travel-enthusiasts (and ordinary people who ever heard the term time travel, for that matter). The idea is that if someone would be able to travel through time, back into the past and do as much change to it as killing a butterfly. The name origins from the hypothesis that a single butterflies wings can start a tornado, but is often described as a lake where a small rock creates larger rings in the water when thrown in.
The fascinating aspect of this potentially life-dependent theory is to look back into major events of our time. World War 2 might have been stopped entirely had Hitlers childhood been just a slight bit different, i.e. his father had died before he was born or maybe his fathers father would’ve died to prevent his birth entirely. What about the people who were late for work in World Trade Center that terrible day of 9/11, overslept 5 minutes but insisted on not skipping breakfast, or had just taken an extended vacation. The slightest of change can not only change individual lives, but entire civilizations such as in the novel “The Sound of Thunder” by Ray Bradbury, where a single dead butterfly appears to have changed the entire future, an excellent example of it’s massively overwhelming capacity regarding the unlikely and unrealistic phenomenon of time travel.
When I say it’s the offspring of the Chaos Theory, some might argue it’s actually more a predecessor so it as such. The Chaos Theory of course being the theory that everything is basically as it should be, is defined by the butterfly effect in a way of speaking that the slightest of changes will grow into larger changes through time. Thus the line between controlled chaos and complete chaos is hold by every minor change in universe. Some call it fate, or luck, others call it bottom-down science. The idea of a butterfly having an impact on major events millions of years ahead in time is quite hard to believe, but when you think of it as other events such as the birth of Hitler, it makes a lot more sense then at first glance.
As whether I believe it or not, I must say this is a matter to me much as the problematics with non-earthly species; it’s more than likely it’s real. It makes the most sense, and it’s completely logical. Of course many people still live in a world of “innocent till proven otherwise”, in this case innocent meaning non-existent. But let’s face it; once we were all completely certain that the earth was the center of the universe, once we were absolutely positive that the earth was flat, but some freethinkers didn’t agree with the general, and see what that led to. Of course these freethinking minds are now mainly categorized as crazy freaks who are “just superstitious”, a category that should be entirely blessed to the people who believe we are actually in touch with the aliens and have some sort of hidden operations (food note: I’m a crazy freak).
The Chaos Theory and the Butterfly Effect are – unlike aliens and unexplained phenomenons, well-respected theories and should be treated as such.
Anarchy – The Purest form of Society
Anarchy, the might and evolvement of the individual civilian
Despite it’s bad reputation, Anarchy is a form of society liberalism, socialism, communism or any other form cannot deal with. It’s based on the pure logic of every individual in the society, and even though it may not be the most economically efficient way of handling worldwide trades, and entire anarchistic world would most likely be as successful as the current western-liberal world. If every choice that individuals make affect society, the need for control would be much greater within certain characters, and thus the people of the society would form self-made groups of anonymous individuals, not trying to gain power, but to be lead by someone in whatever their cause was – such as a union would today.
The need for social relations would be limited to a point where each individual had the same limitations of power and greed, and as such the less fortuned and less powerful characteristics would evolve to an entirely new level of mental strength. As such, anarchy may not be the sublimely best way of leading the world, but it’d enhance the human race in a such way that leadership and caring for the weaker would not be needed. Without a doubt, the good hearts of some would settle with helping the sick and weak, until it’d entirely perish with the will to commence in meaningless massively social action such as elections and jobs.
With certainty, the true quest of an anarchist is to pursue the greater power that it may prove to contain, and as such other forms of society should not underestimate nor premeditate bad conditions on such a thing as anarchy. Also, with the possibility of complete religious eradication within decades, the mental health of hundreds of millions of people around the world of anarchy would improve significantly. The risk of social outbreaks lowered, the need for spiritual guidance conquered.
Anarchy is the form of society which challenges the mind of the individual, that forces the human race to develop and improve. Possibly demanding innocent victims, the passage from our times greatest government-reigns to anarchy would improve mental strength of billions.
